Iuliia Rychkova is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Russian at the George Washington University. She holds a Ph.D. in Second Language Studies, with an emphasis in Applied Linguistics, from the University of Mississippi. Originally from Siberia, Russia, she graduated with distinction from Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University with a B.A. in Teaching English and French and a M.A. in Teaching Foreign Languages.

Dr. Rychkova has taught Russian language and culture to American students in a variety of contexts, beginning as a Fulbright Russian Language Teaching Assistant and continuing as an instructor at the University of Mississippi and Middlebury Language Schools. She also served as Russian Program Coordinator at the Indiana University Language Workshop. Her academic interests include multilingualism, computer-mediated communication, and the use of technology in language teaching. She is particularly committed to designing interactive and engaging classroom experiences that support students’ language acquisition. Her students value her enthusiastic and dynamic approach to teaching.
