Professor López Arteaga is a language instructor interested in heritage language learning, curriculum development, and interculturality. He received his B.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Universidad Nacional Experimental Francisco de Miranda, Coro, Venezuela. He received his first master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Universidad Rafael María Baralt in 2015, and his second Master of Arts in Teaching, Spanish from Northern Arizona University in 2022. He has worked as an English instructor at Francisco de Miranda University and other higher education institutions back in his hometown, Coro, Venezuela. In 2017, he first came to the United States sponsored by the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program to teach Spanish language courses at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. In 2019, he participated in the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program at Penn State University, another scholarship under the umbrella of Fulbright. He has worked as a Spanish instructor at other higher education institutions in the United States such as Northern Arizona University, Salt Lake Community College, and The University of Utah.
