Hadia Anaye is from Lille, Northern France. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Foreign Languages, and two Master’s degrees in International Affairs, as well as Interculturality and International Cooperation, from the University Lille 3 Charles de Gaulle. Languages have always been her passion. After working several years at Trinity University and the State Department, she joined GWU in 2016, where she has been teaching intermediate and advanced levels. Her primary focus is developing innovative teaching strategies to help students enjoy their classroom experience while building practical language skills in professional contexts. To enrich students’ educational journey, Prof. Anaye has established partnerships with prestigious international organizations, including the Delegation of the European Union, the US Institute of Peace, the French embassy, and the Institut Pasteur. These collaborations provide students with valuable opportunities to interact with French-speaking professionals in their fields. Following her certification in professional French through the Paris Chamber of Commerce, she designed and developed FR3030 Business French course, specifically tailored for students pursuing French language skills in professional environments. She also coordinates with the Alliance Française to offer the DFP exam from the Paris Chamber of Commerce, enabling students to formally assess and certify their professional French competency. In 2024, Prof. Anaye received a grant from the French Embassy and the Albertine Foundation to establish the GW French Career Center, a dedicated resource designed to connect students with internship and employment opportunities within francophone organizations.
